Hey hey hay haaay! It’s Laura, aka @guildedpalace, aka Swiss Miss. I’m a classic Type-A Brand Manager, and thus, have condensed my makeup case post into two 3-point lists.
The Cardinal Rules of the Case:
- All products must coordinate and look good when they are lined up. If it doesn’t come in black, it doesn’t come home with me.
- Never switch brands. Ever. I’ve been using the same mascara since I was 14 (no, literally, the SAME TUBE).*
- Maintain the naked face. Stick to liquids and creams, never powders.
The Exploding 3 Point Palm Technique: for the girl who likes to sleep in
- Flawless Base (1 minute): I mix MAC cream and liquid concealers with a little bit of the Bobbi Brown liquid foundation to get a product that disappears into my skin. I find my hands are my best tools for fast and loose blending.
- Color Application (15 seconds): A quick brush of NARS Orgasm blush is all it takes to brighten up the face and create subtle bone structure.
- Da Wings (1 minute – Eternity): I love, love, love – as Celine Dion would say, I lerv – MAC’s Fluidline eyeliner. Combine the precision of the 266 Angle Brush with Fluidline’s smooth, cream-like consistency and it’s a snap to create the perfect 60’s cat-eye wing in one stroke.
The 3 Point Palm Technique is dialed up to “Fancy” by the addition of sparkly brown eyeshadow.
*Just kidding that’s disgusting.
