We recently came across this designer and were entranced by their story. Not only does Bario-Neal use reclaimed precious metals; ethically-sourced stones; and low-impact, environmentally conscious practices, they also produce a beautiful selection of hand-crafted jewelry.
Materials & Studio Practices:
Metals: 100% reclaimed precious metals, derived from recycled jewelry or industrial materials.
Stones: Ethically sourced colored gem stones and conflict-free diamonds.
Chains: Chain made from recycled metal is not currently available and the vintage chain market is limited. Bario-Neal uses vintage chains and chains manufactured by trusted U.S. vendors. Bario-Neal works with a coalition of jewelers to encourage manufacturers to produce chains with recycled metals.
Studio Practices: Low-impact, environmentally conscious studio practices to lessen our footprint. Bario-Neal also supports Jeweler’s Row in Philadelphia, and is a member of the Philadelphia Sustainable Business Network.
Check out their website for products & press or their research blog for more information on industry methods, suppliers & other environmentally conscious jewelers.
