Fashion’s Night Out: The Tyranny of Choice

dynamic_resize

The entire beautycall team will be out and about twittering/liveblogging this evening’s festivities.  With so many fabulous people and parties to choose from, it seemed impossible to narrow it down to just a few.  But we consulted our numerologist, Magic 8 Ball and the Top 10 lists from our friends over at Racked and came up with a game plan.  Here’s where we’ll be:

Part The Waves, We’re Going Uptown:

Uptown, Baby, We Get Down

Uptown, Baby

1. Barneys

What isn’t happening at Barneys?  We will toast the night with a drink made by mini-twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.  Then we’ll meander up and down the escalators, getting runway lessons from Alexander Wang and throwing pots with Jonathan Adler.  We will not be attending the knitting class.

2. Burberry, Dior and Chanel

The plan is to hit up as many of the Madison Ave stores as possible on the way from Barneys to Bergdorf.  We’ll be extra sure to stop by these three…

Burberry

Even more toasts while we enter to win a Burberry classic trench and hope to catch Lily Donaldson DJing.

Dior

We’ll do our best to vamp for the cameras.  A “leading photographer” will be shooting keepsake photos all night.

Chanel

Dear Andria Castellano…. Welcome to the create your own handbag studio!  Here you can choose your lambskin color, lining, hardware and chain and be among the first in the US to own a customized, monogrammed Chanel bag.

3. Bergdorf

FASHION GAMESHOW with Andre Leon Talley.  We hope he wears his jaguar cape.

Exeunt Omnes:

We Get Down, Baby

We Get Down, Baby

1. Opening Ceremony

We’ll browse through the special-edition items being sold from the trunks of vintage cars and rub elbows with Proenza Schouler, Kate and Laura Mulleavey and Alexander Wang (?).  Someone is overbooked.

2. Rag and Bone

Dear Peter Kim… Here is your man event.  We will drink free beer and dance on the sawdust floor to a live Irish band.

3. Vogue Alumni House Block Party

As the night comes to an end, we’ll be throwing down with Aimee Cho of Gryphon NY at Bellhaus, with her comrades from Vogue Alumni House.  In addition to offering their beautiful wares, the designers are selling customized versions of the official Fashion’s Night Out T-Shirt.

So now you know where we’ll be, but if you can’t make it out, live vicariously through us!  Follow our verbal and visual escapades on twitter and facebook – we’ll be using the hashtag #fno09.
