Six Scents has been a favorite of beautylab clients and strategists from the moment the line was added to our scent gallery, so naturally we were ecstatic to read that they’ll be launching a new series in less than a month. For the second series, six pairs of designers and perfumers explored the idea of nature as muse. Each designer was asked to imagine a place, action and person that would be the basis for the fragrance, then the perfumers interpreted the designers’ stories and inspirations to craft the scents.
Designers for Series Two include Phillip Lim, Henrik Vibskov, Damir Doma, Toga, Richard Nicoll and Henry Holland. The production run has been upped to 2000 bottles per fragrance and each will again be accompanied by a signed, numbered card including inspiration sources and scent notes. Series Two will incorporate multi-media components for each of the scents, including short films by Marco Brambilla, botanical sculptures by Makoto Azuma and packaging photography by Justin Edward John Smith.
In a fragrance world dominated by generic mega-conglomerates, it’s seductive to be engaged on an intellectual level by a brand that offers a cerebral, complex product. Below, a list of scents, their designer/perfumer team and fragrance notes:
