Designers took a handmade, crafty approach as New York runways were filled with details from basket-weave embroidery to graphic knit prints to aged, burned and painted fabrics.

Cut-outs, slits, sheer, mesh and lace are the new sexy. Its 80% lady with a pinch of naughty.

Disco fever continues into Spring with more glitz, sparkle and shimmer. Perhaps to distract consumers from their troubles?

More fantasy ahead. Perhaps as an alternative to fur, designers displayed a renewed interest in feathers of all colors and textures. It’s frothy. It’s playful. It’s fun.

Fall 2009 was all about the “power suit” but Spring 2010 eases into casual suits. The look is effortlessly cool and relaxed – comfy and put together at the same time.
